Texas Sterling – Banicki, JV LLC (TSB) is a Sterling Construction Company Joint Venture (JV) that was formed for the specific purpose of pursuing Aviation Work in the Texas Market.  TSB offers the Civil expertise and local knowledge of Texas Sterling Construction (TSC), along with the Aviation and Civil expertise of J. Banicki Construction, Inc. (Banicki). These two entities have come together to form a company that can handle any civil aviation project.

Aviation Projects

Dallas Love Field (DAL)

The scope of the work included the demolition of the existing taxiway and a total reconstruction of a new taxiway for this major airport in Dallas, Texas.  In total, TSC removed and replaced 68,850 SY of taxiway PCCP (18” thick), which included subgrade prep, aggregate base course and asphalt base course placement.  TSC was also required to install new lighting, drainage, signage and pavement markings.

Meacham International Airport

Our project scope consisted of the Midfield Stage 1 Redevelopment.  The work consisted of Taxilanes – G/G East, H1/H2 & H, & N, which coupled with removals of the existing old Taxilanes/Runway opened up over a million square feet of new hangars/parking. This is currently expected to be a potential new hub for possibly Gulfstream or Million Air.

Terminal 4 North Apron Replacement

The Terminal 4 North Apron project involves the removal and replacement of 41 acres of concrete pavement panels in the T4 North Apron area at PSHIA (Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport).  The apron area is affected by Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR). This project will be completed in 6 GMP’s.  Banicki has successfully completed GMP’s 1-3 for this project and is currently delivering GMP 4.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Terminal 4 South Apron

The PHX Terminal 4 South Apron ASR Reconstruction (“T4 South”) Design-Bid-Build project focused on the removal and replacement of 19 acres of airside
concrete panels affected by Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. By leveraging a culture of collaborative teamwork with the development of unique means, methods and technologies to complete the work in the field, the project was delivered 55 days early, nearly $0.9M under budget, and with a perfect safety record and no claims.

The Spaceport lies within the southeast quadrant of Ellington Airport (EFD), just 18 miles from Downtown Houston. Phase 1 expansion is developing 90 acres that include the construction of 5,600 LF of jointed reinforced concrete pavement roadway, storm drainage improvements of 106 ac-ft, water and wastewater pipelines, electrical power distribution and communications facilities.

Taxiway C Replacement

This project involved removal and replacement of  two (2) PCCP Panels that were exhibiting material defects.  The scope of work included: Saw cutting and removal of the existing PCCP panels, remove unsuitable subgrade, replaced with P-209 material, poured back the two (2) PCCP using P-501 mix and installing pavement markings.  The project involved working closely with Airport Operations during the closure of Taxiway “C”.
